Charybdis

A while back, we ended up taking a short break to Bushman's, just outside of Port Alfred. There, one morning, we walked along the river's edge all the way to the mouth. I was struck quite powerfully by the contrast between the yellow ochre, meandering beaches and the jutting, lush banks on either side. They held something primordial and mysterious in them. The image stuck with me all the way back where I decided to commit it to canvas. I called it Charybdis after the Greek myths.
