Shoggoth

I am very unhappy with the quality of the photograph here but, after having taken well over a hundred in all sorts of different lights and angles, I have given up. The negative space on the left is actually much closer to ochre than it appears and the form on the right is much darker and with richer reds. If you are interested, I recommend that you come and see it first-hand. This is, of course, a Shoggoth, from Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness", a dark and malignantly stupid being. I made the painting as iconic as possible. It is, as always, suffused with personal ideas.
